1. Brainbow, rainbow in the brain. This picture shows that individual neurons of the dendategyrus, one of the layers of hippocampus, are labeled with different colors using “brainbow” technology. By randomly express different ratios of three fluorescent proteins in neurons, it becomes possible that each neuron may be labeled by a distinct color.
